Our projects aim to improve living conditions of the vulnerable and to enhance the human rights protection. We envision a society in which all its members have equal opportunities to access education. Our mission is to help people to empower themselves.
Sunrise foundation was founded by Shabaan Ali Abdalla and Aslihan Masoud in 2022.
Shabaan was born and raised in Zanzibar and has a diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance. He works since more than ten years in the field of aid work.
Aslihan is a Turkish-German volunteer who came to Zanzibar first in 2011. Since then, she takes care of fundraising for various projects in Zanzibar.Both of them are committed to contribute to the local development by empowering young Zanzibaris, especially women as well as children.
